MS. WORTHINGTON (Wendy Worthington):

For our 2nd podcast, we are delighted to bring you a special
interview with actress Wendy Worthington. Most TOT (Tower of
Terror) fans remember her as Ms. Emeline Partridge from Disney’s
1997 made for T.V. movie The Tower of Terror. In the movie, the
character of Ms. Partridge was one of the five elevator ghosts
who, as the nanny, watched over the character of Sally Shine
(portrayed by Lindsey Ridgeway). Wendy has had quite a career in
show business, and has appeared in other film and TV productions
such as Steven Spielberg’s Catch Me If You Can, Father of the
Bride 2, Cast Away, Ally Mcbeal, and So Little Time.
She is scheduled to be on the 5th episode of Desperate
Housewives for the 2006 season, and is currently on stage at The
Secret Rose Theatre in North Hollywood California in Looking For
Normal (until 10/14/06 only--for reservations and details call
323-769-5858).
The following are a few excerpts from the interview with actress
Wendy Worthington. We strongly recommend listening to the entire
audio interview by downloading it to your I-Pod or listening to
the interview here directly on the website.
SE: How did you obtain the role of
Ms. Partridge?
WW: I had heard of the ride, and it
wasn’t here in California yet, it was only down in Florida. So,
I’d never been on it, nor did I know much about it. I knew the
building was patterned after The Hollywood Towers (here in
California). I knew they were casting this film, and my agent
sent me out. I certainly didn’t know there was a story within
the ride. But apparently I looked enough like the character (Ms.
Partridge) and was given the opportunity to audition for it.
SE: For clarification purposes, you
portrayed the character in the Tower of Terror movie, not the
film footage from the attraction?
WW: I was only in the movie, not
the attraction.
SE: Where was the movie actually
filmed?
WW: We actually shot the movie in
the studio…I think it was up in Sylmar (California). They had
recreated the int eriors
in the studio. And it is true, some of the filming was done at
the Ambassador Hotel in Hollywood. We filmed (at the Ambassador)
some of the dungeon stuff (where you find out in the movie who
the real witch is)—I was bummed out when one of the crew members
took the other cast down to the kitchen where Bobby Kennedy had
been shot, and I didn’t realize they were going down there. It
was kind of creepy.
SE: How long did it take to film
the movie?
WW: I think it was a 3 week shoot.
SE: If there were ever to be a
Tower of Terror Movie Sequel , would you be interested in coming
back as Ms. Partridge?
WW: Oh absolutely!
